About Queen Mary Elementary
Queen Mary Elementary School is a historic and progressive public school nestled in the scenic hilltop neighborhood of West Point Grey in Vancouver. Serving roughly 315 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7, the school beautifully bridges educational history with modern innovation. While its doors first opened in 1909, a massive $22-million seismic conversion completed in 2016 completely modernized the interior into bright, collaborative learning spaces while carefully preserving the building's iconic 1914 heritage brick facade.
The school community places a heavy emphasis on inclusion, social-emotional learning, and environmental stewardship. Capitalizing on its location near the coast, teachers frequently integrate outdoor education and sustainability into the standard BC curriculum. Backed by an active Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and a dedicated team of educators, Queen Mary focuses on cultivating compassionate, critical thinkers through robust academics, strong fine arts programming, and active participation in local elementary sports leagues.
